Moving to Hospice

My mom just called.

The doctors took blood work this morning and her kidneys are failing.

She is going to be transferred to a hospice house.

Please pray for a miracle that her kidneys will start working again.

Resting in Christ,

Unable to put the tube in today

My mom was not able to get the tube put in. Her esophagus is too narrow to perform the procedure. They are sending her to radiology tomorrow to see if they can put it in. Please pray that will work, otherwise she we need to have a more invasive surgery.

Thank you for praying.  Some of you have asked what hospital she is at, she is at Research.

Thanks,
Carol

Prayer for my mom

Dear Friends and Family,

After having a CT scan, the doctors can see the blockage in my mom's throat. Her esophagus goes from normal size to a pin hole size where the tumor is pushing on it. It seems the radiation is helping some, however, it is not helping fast enough.

Thus, my mom is scheduled to have a feeding tube put in this Wednesday and will stay in the hospital for 3 days to be monitored.  Please pray for quick healing and no complications.

For some good news, my mom's oncologist found out there is another targeted drug for her mutation. This targeted drug is safe to use during radiation and is not as harsh as chemo. This is exciting news to us! My mom's doctor wants to start the drug Wednesday.  Please pray my mom will have a peace about starting this new treatment and that the Lord will continue to guide her and her doctors. Please also pray this new drug will be successful at killing the cancer!

Thanks so much for partnering with us in prayer.

In Him,

Carol

Christmas was memorable!

Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for praying.  My mom was able to stay hydrated enough to stay out of the hospital over Christmas.

We just learned today that the tumor is pushing on her esophagus and that is why she can't eat.  She finished radiation on her brain today and will start radiation on the tumor pushing on the esophagus on Thursday.  Please pray she will have enough energy to start another 3 week round of radiation and that it will be successful in shrinking the cancer so that she can eat again.

The doctors are holding off on the chemo until she is more nourished and isn't so weak.

Thank you for your encouragement to my mom.  If you would like to contact her or encourage her, please go through me.

Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for my mom and our family.

Love,

Carol

Please pray for Christmas

Dear Friends and Family,

The cancer is paralizing my mom's vocal cords and swallowing mechanisms.  She is not able to eat or drink very easily and is therefore dehydrated and very weak.  The weakness is also due to the radiation.

We have just learned she will not be able to get hydrated this weekend as the doctor originally planned for her.  Would you please pray she will be able to drink enough fluids to stay out of the hospital?  And please pray her swallowing mechanisms will start working again.

Thank you for praying for us.  We covet your prayers!

Carol
